Figuring out what to wear on Turkey Day is complicated. Most of the time we’re heading to a large gathering, so obviously we’ve got to be looking cute. Then there’s the fall factor. It’s important to make sure what we’re wearing is on-trend and in season, right? And, most importantly, we gotta be comfy. This is not an event to break out the bodycon. Bottom line? Thanksgiving Day outfits require careful planning and strategy.

Here’s what to wear on Thanksgiving Day so you’ll be ready to belly up to the Turkey Day table, but will still look pulled together, chic and totally festive.

Animal Print

Pleated Leopard Skirt

You probably already caught wind of the fact that animal print is so in for fall and winter 2019 — and what better way to capitalize on the trend than wearing some leopard, cheetah or zebra to a family gathering or a Friendsgiving? From top to bottom, there are so many ways to incorporate this pattern in for the holiday — but we’re loving how this gorgeous pleated leopard print skirt has an elastic waistband… so we’ll stay comfortable even as we round the corner on our second piece of pumpkin pie. This long sleeve leopard print dress is also a great option. Just add some black tights and boots if it’s chilly.

A Fun Sweater

Pullover Slouchy Stripe Sweater | Spoiled Rotten Boutique

We know this one is kind of a given, but an adorable oversized sweater has to be mentioned. Nothing screams Thanksgiving like an autumnal colored slouchy sweater like this one! Or if you’re looking to add a little glam, opt for something off-the-shoulder.

A Corduroy Peplum Dress

Corduroy Dresses for Women In Light Brown Camel | Spoiled Rotten

We’re declaring corduroy the official fabric of fall. It’s got just the right weight and texture to fit right in. This cord dress in a warm brown color has a nice easy fit and looks amazing paired with some chunky ribbed rights.

Pink Faux Fur Pullover Sweatshirt

Thank goodness leisurewear exists, right? It’s the ultimate in comfort, which is kinda what you need when the goal of the day is to stuff yourself silly. If you’re looking to keep things casual this year, a pair of neutral colored joggers worn with a fuzzy pullover is just what the doctor ordered. The faux fur on top elevates the look just the right amount to put it on our list of favorite Thanksgiving Day outfits.

Flare Leg JeggingsFlare Leg Jegging

We love our skinny jeans, but Thanksgiving just ain’t the time to restrict blood flow. These jeggings are super soft, have an elastic waistband and are a gorgeous fall-friendly caramel color. Want to kick the retro vibe up a notch? Wear them with a tie-dye kimono. We don’t normally associate tie-dye with Thanksgiving, but this particular top just works.
